Today I am going to blog about what Figo, a portuguese soccer player said about Ronaldo, a portuguese soccer player too. Figo said that Ronaldo should join Real Madrid, the Spanish Giants.

"Manchester United's star striker Cristiano Ronaldo should join Spanish giants Real Madrid, " Figo said.

"Real Madrid is the most important club in the world, the best club in the world. I think Ronaldo has already wrapped up a stage at United," the Inter Milan midfielder said

"He has won everything he can with the English club, which is another great club, but he should have other goals now, other ambitions, and Real Madrid would allow him to achieve more importance, more relevancy," he added.

"That is what I have told him. I don't know what he thinks now," the 36-year-old former Real player added.

Real tracked Ronaldo all of last summer following his Champions League and English Premiership triumphs and 42 goals across the campaign before United boss Sir Alex Ferguson stepped in and emphatically vetoed his departure.

But Spanish media continue to insist that the 2008 Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Footballer of the Year will join Real at the end of the season. Ronaldo added to the speculation in January when he told Spanish television he was learning Spanish.

My Opinion:
I think Ronaldo should join Real Madrid on his point of view. However I think Ronaldo should not join the Spanish Giants on Manchester United( includes staff and players) and the fans' point of view.

First I shall start with Ronaldo's point of view. First of all like what Figo said, Ronaldo has won everything he can in the Barclays Premier League. Its time for him to win some other trophies from other leagues. Why not go and win the Spanish Liga? Since he cannot decide, why don't he just join? During Euro 2008, he said that he like to play in a white jersey to play. Which is also the home colour for Real Madrid. This is a hint that he wants to join Real Madrid. He also said that he is learning Spanish. Why does he learn Spanish when he is playing for an English club. Isn't that another hint that he wants to play for the Spanish Giants so he can communicate with the people there easily.

Next its Manchester United and the fans' point of view. There are many Red Devils supporter in this big world and I am one of them. We will definitely not want Ronaldo leave Manchester United as he is one of our star players. He bagged a total of 42 goals last season. Which is amazing for a 24-year-old. Mind you! 24-year-old! I remembered during the start of the 09/10 season. The Red Devils were playing without Ronaldo as he had underwent a ankle surgery at Lisbon, Portugal. The Red Devils were not playing very well. This shows that Manchester United needs Ronaldo to win the trophy.

In conclusion, I really depends on Ronaldo himself. The amount of money Real Madrid is offering is very difficult for Manchester United to reject therefore, its Ronaldo's choice. Leave or stay, he decides.

Today I am going to blog about the article: Diet, exercise could cut cancer rates by third.

A third of common cancers could be prevented if people shifted to a sounder diet, exercised more and controlled their weight The report, by the World Cancer Research Fund and the American Institute for Cancer Research, analysed incidence of 12 types of cancer in the United States, Britain, Brazil and China.

Around a third of these cancers could be prevented by better nutrition, physical activity and obesity controls.

The figure does not include the benefits of tackling cancer by stopping smoking. Tobacco use alone accounts for about a third of cancers.

"On a global level every year, there are millions of cancer cases and this is why we need to act now before the situation gets even worse," said the report's leader.

"We are expecting a substantial increase in cancer rates, with the ageing population, obesity rates soaring, and with people becoming less active and increasingly consuming highly-processed and energy-dense food and drinks."

"The good news is that this is not inevitable and we still have the chance to avert a crisis before it is too late."

The report makes four dozen recommendations, authored by 23 leading cancer experts.

It includes the advice that schools and workplaces bar unhealthy foods from vending machines and governments encourage cycling paths and walking routes to promote physical exercise.
According to a report issued on February 2 by health foundation and consultancy Axios International, 12 million new cases of cancer were diagnosed worldwide in 2008, resulting in 7.6 million deaths.

There could be 20 million new cases of cancer each year, and 13 million deaths, by 2030, it estimated.

Today I am going to blog about the article: Iraqi police shoot dead four US soldiers.

The incident took place during a US army visit to the Mosul headquarters of the Iraqi police in charge of protecting the city's bridges. The bullet-riddled body of the interpreter was taken to the local mortuary.

It was the third such fatal shooting involving US soldiers in just over a year in Mosul, one of the country's most restive cities. Example: On November 12, an Iraqi soldier shot dead two US soldiers in the city before being shot dead himself.

Iraqi officials said the soldier opened fire after an altercation with the Americans during a joint patrol in the city, but the US military insisted it was an unprovoked shooting inside an Iraqi army compound.

Iraq's defence ministry spokesman, said that the shooting took place during a joint patrol to inspect security procedures in Mosul, which the US army says is Al-Qaeda's last urban bastion in Iraq.

An official in the Iraqi interior ministry said "a US soldier slapped an Iraqi soldier during the patrol."

A similar incident took place in Mosul in January 2007 when an Iraqi soldier opened fire on American troops during the erection of a combat outpost in the city, killing two US soldiers.

US and Iraqi forces operate together throughout the country, and the United States has long said that the training of Iraqi troops and police is a central part of its military strategy.

Today I am going to blog about the article: School's Out. I think it is a character-driven story. This article is about a few teachers who teach during the morning and switch to rocker mode at night. All of them agreed that manging both passions can be a challenge. I believe that all of them have good time management skills. We, as students, should learn from them especially me. My main job is to study and I love to switch to rocker mode after my work. But this requires the above skills which I dont have currently. I should really learn those skills from them.

Mr Rai said that music was his "escape"- though he never let it get in the way of work. This shows us that he does not let music affect his career. We should also learn this from him. We should not let our passion affect our studies. He also said, " Academics is still important and you do not have to sacrifice studies for a passion." Academics is the top priority and the others are below it. Our passions should not interfere our studies. I am stressing this as I know some of us, teenagers or children, put their passion as their top priority. This is wrong! Academics come first. Our passion is for us to relax. I know that if we do not give up and practise all day we can achieve our dream. Some children want to become a professional soccer player. However in Singapore, what are the chances of playing in top leagues like the Barclays Premier League? So we should put academics in our top priority.

Magdelene said that she is the exact opposite in her class. She is very strict unlike her rocker attitude outside class. This tells us that we should focus on studying when its time to study and play well when its time to play. We can try to be balanced instead of focusing on academics or passion. If we study too much, we may become stresssed. However if we play too much we will forget about our studies and will do badly in our examinations. Therefore we must be balanced.

After reading this post, I hope you guys will change your time-table if necessary. Do not study too much or play too much. Be balanced. Remember that academic is always the top priority. Play only after you have finish studying.

Valentine's Day or Saint Valentine's Day is an occasion celebrated on Febuary 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine's card, presenting flowers , or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.

The day is most closely associated with the mutual exchange of love notes in the form of "valentines."Modern Valentine symbols include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten notes have largely given way to mass-produced greeting cards.
