Hey! I am back again. This time I am suppose to compose a poem. I have decided to compose a poem about the game Jem, Scout and Dill played during the Summer. I wrote it in Jem's point of view. Here we go:

I want to play a game
Called One Man's Family
Although it is wrong
We still do enjoy it

Dill is old Mr Radley
and Scout is Mrs Radley
I will be Boo
And its a family

We played during the summer
Polished and perfected it
We added many dialogues
And many plots it seems

Finally came our play
A very nice small play

Done :D Hope you enjoyed it. I know it doesnt really rhyme very well at some parts. But do forgive me >.< Thank you :D
Now I am going to do my Home-Learning activity. Since my best score is Interpersonal, I have to interview a friend or a family member. Since only my brother is at home, I have decided to interview him. Firstly I asked him whether he knows what is the meaning of prejudice and discrimination. Just like I expected, he didnt know what it means. I asked him to check the dictionary while I continued with my Home-Learning activities.

After a few minutes, he came out with the dictionary in his hand and he said, "Prejudice is unreasonable dislike of a particular group of people or things, or a preference for one group of people or things over another. Discrimination is the practice of treating one person or group of people less fairly or less well than other people or groups." I smiled at him and said,"well done"

Immediately, he asked me," Isn't it the same as the word 'nigger'?" I was shocked. I didn't expect him to come up with an example so fast. I was just about to ask him to give me an example. So I asked him to elaborate.

He told me," In school, my friend calls my other friend a nigger when they were quarrelling. The whole class laughed so I also laugh. Then got one teacher pass by and heard him so he come in scold us. He say that word is not the correct word to describe someone who is black. But after that happened, many of us still continue to call my friend nigger just because he is an Indian." Then he continued," Just like what you do to Siddarth." I was dumbfounded. Siddarth was an Indian who lived in the same condominium as us. He used to be in the same class as me when we were in Primary School. Everyone hated him even myself. Now whenever we played soccer, I would push him and call him names. I was shocked that my younger brother even noticed that. I think from now on, I will try not to insult Siddarth no matter how irritating he is. Even if I have to, I must not do it in front of my brother. This activity has just taught me a valuable lesson.
Today I am here to post about what I feel about my Multiple Intelligence Test. My highest score is Interpersonal followed by Musical and Kineasthetic. I think this is quite true. :D I am really amazed by how they did this. I would really love to learn about they did it.
Byebye.
I will be back to post a video! :D Stay tuned :]

Hello. I am back. Sorry for not posting for a long time. I have been rather busy with my training. I have decided to post more about my CCA instead of soccer. Sorry if I disappointed you. >.<

Anyway, my CCA is canoeing. It is an elite sport in our school. This year I am in the C division team. I will be rowing K2 during the competition. Today I will give a brief introduction about canoeing. :]

Basically, in our school we canoe, kayak and dragonboat. We do everything! K2 stands for Kayak 2. 2 means that there are 2 people in the boat. C1 stands for Canoe 1. Simple? :D Last year we got silver medal for dragonboating. It was a fantastic achievement because it was our first time participating in it.

What is canoeing? Canoeing is not all about moving your paddle on the boat. One of the most important factor is balance. Without balance, you cannot even sit on the boat. Besides balance, we also need muscle endurance. We have to paddle long distances therefore muscle endurance is very important. Muscle strength is another important factor. How are you going to paddle fast without muscle strength?

Land fitness. A very very important factor too. We will not be able to complete long distances with stamina. Therefore it is very important.

With these, I am sure you all will have a brief idea of canoeing. Next I shall post about the different type of boats. Byebye!

30/01/10 Matches

Hello. Today I am going to share about Saturday night's matches. There were 2 astonishing matches. Firstly, Liverpool defeating Bolton Wanderers 2 goals to 0. Liverpool are finally back in form after a few months of bad results. There were either losing or not scoring any goals. They secured a point during their last match against Wolverhampton, which is 4th from the bottom. A place above the relegation zone. Will they be able to secure a place to next season's Champion League? Secondly, Tottenham Hotspurs was held to a 1-1 draw with Birmingham City. Are they real contenders for the Champion's League spot or should I say, will they qualify?

Here is my views:
1) I think they have a slight chance of securing a slot. This season, Tottenham Hotspurs, Aston Villa and Manchester City are huge contenders for the place. Needless to say, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are definite qualifiers. I feel that Aston Villa or Manchester City are the biggest contenders. Defeating Fulham 2-0 during last night's game, they displayed a wonderful form. They were defending as a team, attacking as a team. Everything was almost perfect. Manchester City will be playing against Portsmouth today. Playing against a team which is last in the table and suffering huge debts, it will be easy for them to secure all three points. Having spent so much money on so many world-class players from all around the world, I do not see why they are not contenders for the Champions League spot. Therefore I do not think Liverpool have good chances of qualifying.

2) Although Tottenham is currently 4th in the table, I do not think they qualify. Birmingham City was in excellent form during the last few months, having broken their own record of not losing for 14 games. This time, they did not lose for 15 games! Having lost to Chelsea 3-0 in their previous game, I expect their moral to be lower. This gives Tottenham a huge advantage over them. However, Birmingham scored a last minute to goal to secure a point for themselves. This is the 3rd time out of 4 games that Tottenham conceded a last minute goal. I was obvious that the players were all very nervous during the last 10 minutes and Birmingham was playing extremely well. After the game, Tottenham will not be contenders for the Champions League. The situation may change, but not so soon. Therefore, for the time being, Tottenham are not real contenders.

Sorry for the long post, but last night's results were far too amazing :]
Thank you for reading! Please do comment :]

Sheldon Alan "Shel" Silverstein was an American poet, singer-songwriter, musician, composer, cartoonist, screenwriter, and author of children's books. Silverstein confirmed he never studied the poetry of others therefore, developed his own quirky style: laid-back and conversational, occasionally employing profanity and slang.

Let me show you 3 poems by him:

Sick

'I cannot go to school today, '
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
'I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more-that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut-my eyes are blue-
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke-
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is-what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is...Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play! '

Smart

My dad gave me one dollar bill
'Cause I'm his smartest son,
And I swapped it for two shiny quarters
'Cause two is mroe than one!

And then i took the quarters
And traded them to Lou
For three dimes-i guess he don't know
that three is mroe than two!

Just them, along came old blind Bates
And just 'cause he can't see
He gave me four nickels for my three dimes,
And four is more than three!

And i took the nickels to Hiram Coombs
Down at the seed-feed store,
and the fool gave me five pennies for them,
And five is more than four!

And then i went and showed my dad,
and he go red in the cheeks
And closed his eyes and shook his head-
Too proud of me to speak!

Forgotten Language

Once I spoke the language of the flowers,
Once I understood each word the caterpillar said,
Once I smiled in secret at the gossip of the starlings,
And shared a conversation with the housefly
in my bed.
Once I heard and answered all the questions
of the crickets,
And joined the crying of each falling dying
flake of snow,
Once I spoke the language of the flowers. . . .
How did it go?
How did it go?

I think Silverstein wrote the first 2 poems for children as it was related to them. It was about how they think, how they act. The first poem was about a child pretending to be sick and when he/she heard that it was Saturday, he/she immediately went out to play. The second poem is about the way children thinks. They thought that as long as the numbers are larger, the value is higher. This shows that he knew a lot about children or he is very close to them.

The last poem is most probably about his life when he was young. He spoke the languag of flowers and understood what caterpillars said. He may be lonely when he was young and always spent his time with nature till he spoke their language. He joined the crying of each falling dying snow flakes. This shows that he is very close to nature.

I feel that his poems are all related to his life be it young or old. I find it easy to comprehend too. I would recommend his poems to those who are weak in English.
